With Less Than 10 Days Out...

Things are getting a little crazy around here.

Garrison is finally here! Hooray!
Our to do list is dwindling, but there is still much to be done. Luckily, most of our 'crafting' is finished. We have a few more things to buy, and a lot of food to make (chocolate mocha and lemon cupcakes!).

Unfortunately, my Mom called the bakery today to try and get Garrison's Key Lime Cheesecake (his favorite dessert and his only real request), and even though the website said you could order now for delivery on January 6th, they won't let her order one to be delivered the seventh or eighth. Weird. Oh well, my Dad is just going to pick up one or two from the Cheesecake Factory in Dallas on his way to the wedding on the 7th.

My Mom was so freaked out that she went ahead and bought 16 bottles of champagne from Wal-Mart. Of course, she did it because she was worried that the champagne would be sold out because of New Year's Eve and wouldn't be restocked in time, but it was still amusing to me.

I've said it before, and I will say it many more times. There is no possible way I could have done this wedding without my Mom. She's amazing.

More Pictures!

I'm trying desperately to upload some more pictures on here. I'm going to keep working on it throughout the day. These are all pictures that she released early on facebook. I can't get the giant files to load. :(

I loved taking pictures in the bookstore. It's just a little bit different but fits us so perfectly well.
The colors in the park were absolutely beautiful. And of course, when we busted out the winter wear, the temperature got up to around 80 degrees even though it had been frigid all morning while I was doing bridals. Oh well.

Stephanie was thoroughly impressed with how high Garrison could jump. This was his favorite part of the entire shoot and his favorite photo.

Wow

It is hard to believe that it's been a full year since Garrison gave me my beautiful ring. It's even harder to believe that we had started seriously discussing marriage and our wedding three or four months before that.

It's all coming to a head in eleven days. Our new life will start.

Don't get me wrong. We are both still nervous, but my excitement and love for him far outweighs all of that. I'm so blessed, and I'm so happy to have found such amazing person to share my life with.

I'm so ready to see Garrison tomorrow (yeah, we couldn't be together on our engagaversary, and we haven't seen each other in two weeks! it's LAMEEEEEEE), give him a big hug, and remind him that we'll be married in ten days.

We've been engaged for almost a year

But we went ahead and waited to take pictures until the very end of October.

If you have read here much, then you might remember that we had some severe weather issues with our first planned shoot last May. Our photographer, Stephanie Davis, went ahead and offered us a small save the date session (woops...never actually sent some out), and asked if we would be willing to wait until later for a more wintery engagement session. It would be good for her to have one, and the pictures would be more fitting for our January wedding (yeah...12 days.).

I love our new pictures. We went down to the Dallas-Fort Worth area and took pictures in a beautiful used book shop in downtown McKinney and took some more Bethany Lakes.

I also took bridals on the SMU campus, but I'll be saving those for after the wedding. We were hoping for a big field on the middle of nowhere, because that's just my style, but with three previous days of rain...that was just not really happening.

Here you go!

Well...on that note...I've been trying to upload more pictures for about the past 15 hours (off and on...not straight...I'm not that crazy). I think the files might be too big. Any tips?

Invitations

I honestly cannot say enough good things about Kimi of Printable Press. She made the invitation process a complete breeze. We bought and paid for our invitations online, and she had our first draft to us in days, and the final draft came not long after that.

If you are looking for absolutely beautiful invitations at a reasonable price, go check out Printable Press. She has styles for all types of weddings. Kimi is personable and very helpful, and while you have to actually put together the invitations yourself, I'd say it is definitely worth the work.

Here are some pictures of ours:

Quick Question

Has anyone else had issues getting in RSVPs?

Ours were due a week ago. I knew that some might be a few days late...maybe they were mailing them the day of.

We are missing 30 people's answers, and that is after assuming a couple of answers and several calls or texts. There is a total of 61 guests who did not send back cards. We only invited 150.

Oh well. We're hoping to figure out the rest of people's answers this week.

Also in the works for this week: I'm planning on showing off our awesome invitations and engagement pictures.

I cannot believe that I am only 19 days out. CRAZY. I'm so excited.

20 Days and Counting

These past few days have been a turning point for me.

As we mark things off the ever-present list, I get more and more excited.

For the past month or so, I keep thinking "Man, it is so weird that the wedding is only x days away. It feels like we have not even been engaged for that long."

Now, I'm just so ready and excited for the next 20 days to go by. I want to stand by Garrison and become his wife. I want to say the vows. I want to have the fun party. I want to live with him. I'm becoming more and more excited every day, and I must say, I cannot wait until January!

Getting the Centerpieces Ready

Our new wedding mantra? It's going to be dark.

Today, Mom and I went ahead and finished everything up for all of the centerpieces.

We have stacks of books. We have candles. We have mason jars. And now we have it all ready to go.

In the end, we decided to go with a mix of white and yellow sand to anchor the candle and just a small navy ribbon around the lip of the jar. I think they will look great all over the venue!

And I'm back...

It is officially Christmas break.

And we are in full-on, getting married in 22 days, working on everything possible, wedding mode.

Over the next little bit I'll recap what we have gotten done. I'll let you know what we're on working on right now.

But all that will probably start coming...this afternoon...or tomorrow.

For now, here's a fun sneak peek.

AH-MAH-ZING

I haven't blogged in two months. Woops.

To be fair, I'm a senior in college. This has been the hardest semester of my school career.

I'm planning on returning to blog once this semester is over, around the middle of December. I can't wait to update all not very many of you who read this with the remainder of my wedding details up until we actually get married!

Now, I have come out of my hiatus for this...

BEAUTIFUL BEAUTIFUL WEDDING

I can't get the pictures off the blog, but they are absolutely lovely.

Don't know if you remember when I went to Boston this May, but I did, and it was fantastic. I can't wait to go back to that great city. One of the places I got to visit was the Boston Public Library, and I am loving this wedding that took place there.

Please go check it out. It's lovely.

See you soon.
